I already posted this in V13 and no one could answer it was about that busted up vault door inside the Valdez tanker, now what on earth is vault door doing in the MIDDLE of the cargo bay of a TANKER??? Weird, really weird... Maybe its their :new-alien: fault (j/k)

Guess someone will have to use fallout bible or mail the devs or go on guessing in this forum. I vote that its a bug! or maybe ,like i said, their :new-alien: fault.
Argh this really screws my brain.

Maybe they were going to build a vault in san fran, but they decided against it...so they dumped the parts they were going to use in various places, and the oil tanker was there, so they used it to store the vault door. Just a thought...
MAYBE ITS AN UNFINISHED QUEST!!!!!!11!1!!1!1!!!!11!
Only kidding. I think it's a joke personally. You also see Ed the skeleton down there, so i think it's an in-joke to the original Fallout. Maybe. Probably. Perhaps.
What about it? the intro movie doesnt talk about a vault inside an oil tanker. Or does it? 8O
Note: 1 - enclave troops killed the people inside the vault in that intro
2 - enclave troops used to own the oil tanker
3 - they took e v e r y t h i n g to be taken from that vault

The oil tanker was formerly Enclave owned and run. Talk to the Captain.

Don't tell me, you still don't get it...
Sort of. That vault in the intro may or may not have been where the vault door came from, but we know they did go after vaults. Heck, the vault in the intro could have been Vault 13.
When you think about it though, if you need technology and refined metal for things like making vertibirds, a vault is a pretty good place to get those materials.
I think that the Vault in the intro was V13, as the guy on the rig says (the spokesperson for the vault) that the Enclave were waiting for them when they came out, just like the movie. (I think anyway, haven't played it in a while...)

I didnt get it! (jk)
But tell me then, how on earth would they take out a vault walk thousands (ok hundreds) of miles with that... (hidden technology, maybe a walking crane?(jk) )

Like i posted earlier, it seems to be an in joke, as is evinced by the skeleton of Ed in the same cargo hold (you know? The one from the beginning of FO?)
Anyways, I think it's an inside-joke as well, one that actually makes just a little sense- at least it's better than all those goddamn pop-culture references!
