contreversy..... burst or single shot???
with the current contreversy going on (well i think it is) about whether burst is better than single shot and that burst is good vs. frank horrigan and that burst isn't any good vs. powered armour....
i would like YOU to go ahead and wade through all the crap and vote and post your personal opinion about these fire modes...
i am interested to see what you have to say....

I only like taking single shots when they can cause a critical like shooting someone/thing in the eyes. Then I use burst when they get closer so they take more damage. Both have their advantages and it is just a matter of personal preference. Also if you play the game 20+ times, you play as a different type of an assualt character each time.

I use gauss rifle/pistol at long range for sniping, and grab a bozar for the close range riddling with lead. I just love those animations! Really tho, both have their uses, mostly depending upon range.
Gatlings suck tho.

When I am King, you will be first against the wall, with your opinions which are of no consequence at all.

who cares about aimed shots only thing that might make it worth while is the amusing remarks the NPC's make. I dont care about wasting ammo so burst is my fav. All i need is a minigun so i can grind up my enemys at close range. And if i run out of ammo i just use melee weapons or lay down bare knuckle.

Aimed shots are great for large groups. You shoot and kill the first two-three people before the get close enough for your burst-weapon to do damage to them all. Versatility is the key word here.

I agree. It really depends on what kind of weapon you're using, how much ammo you have, your skill (ie, can you actually hit them in the head/eyes?) and howmany enemies you're fighting (are they in a gruop so you can hit them all or are they spread out? How close are they to you? etc).

Depends on where I am in the game. Against soft targets around the early/midgame I'll get myself a p90 and a greasegun with a couple hundred rounds for each and burst any opponent I find into next month. Later In the game I'll move to a gauss pistol/bozar/pulse rifle/rocket launcher/flamer combo. Regardless, you almost ALWAYS need some kind of single-shot weapon for shooting past NPCs, etc.
Oh, and burst-fire does WONDERS in the raiders caves.

interesting...
i find that rocket and flamer ammo is just too rare or heavy to be of much use to me...
personally i agree that it depends on the situation...
bozar, gauss and pulse are my favorites from each catigory...

yes, true.....
always depends, depends......
even if you have "sniper", which by the sounds is a single shot weapon perk, you can still get good damage/penetration if you target individuals with bursts, and ya can still spray others with a volley of weaker fire.
