science fiction

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

ghost in the shell (to anyone who bashes me for this: i realize the writing is paperthin, however the cyberpunk motif and visuals, especially the backgrounds, are absolutely wicked -- so fuck off)

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

On the other foot, I would quite like to be able to acquire weapons from the fare of seafood restaurants.

As for guidance !

Hyperdrive, while not a film, is both science fiction and bursting with hilariousity (sic). To disagree is to be both wrong and daft, in roughly equal measure.

Others, perhaps, In The Future. Or not. :drunk:

The Andromeda Strain, Altered States, They Live, Impostor, Akira, Johnny Mnemonic. World Trade Center

Of course, if you're looking for pew pew spaceships I would recommend the new Battlestar Galactica series, terrific stuff.

Another dumb sci-fi thread.

2001: Space odyssey
Solaris
12 monkeys
1984
Minority report
Brazil
A.I.
The City of the Lost children
Alien

As for bad sci-fi(I love those), certain MST3K episodes is probably your best bet.

i read today that, a few years ago, someone acquired the film rights to valis and flow my tears the policeman said. valis is too much of a conceptual mess to be a good film but i'm interested to see what could be done with flow my tears
