Bleh. It's not even remotely close to approaching Ruruoni Kenshin. Jack's not even holding a katana - the sword straight! It's saddening to how low on ideas CN is in. They're just recycling things, trying to hide it with stylism - which doesn't work all that well. Samurai Jack is a parody of itself.

If I'm ever in the mood for predictable plotlines and mindless violence, I watch it. But then again, I'm not often in said mood.

It's Cartoon Network, for chrissakes. I only try to catch reruns of the Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Brak's Life episodes which I haven't been able to watch yet. All else, is really for kids.

Who would be better off watching something that actually has a plot. Ie; get hooked on anime.

Uh.. but again, hentai is just a step away. Mmmaybe it's not such a good idea to jump in too early, then.

For gods sake, Samari Jack is a childrens cartoon. It wants to be a clever parody of anime tv shows and movies, but simply fails on that point because its audience is too young (or too stupid) to make the connection.

Good anime is NOT intended for children.

I watched a few episodes. It's ok? Not the best action cartoon thingy out there.

I like cartoons. There funny and stuff. Wee.

Anime is ok. Most of it sucks though imo.

Samurai Jack appeals to both kids and adults. Why do you think it's so popular?

Then explain all of the references to old samurai movies and pop culture. And what about the artistic style of the show? It's very different and more mature than your typical cartoon fare.

b)suppose i take pokemon and give it the same art style as SJ, you'd consider it an "adult" cartoon serie?

Heh, good point, Spazmo. Although, I'm surprised I've not seen this thread before. b.pen has it right on the nose.

As for the Pwerpuff Girls, it's got a bit of depth into the humor, along with a few witty deadpan ending episodes. I think it has both Tartakovsky and McCracken's style, not sure, and McCracken's past work was 2 Stupid Dogs. There was an amusing show as well. With both of them on that show, it could explain why Dexter's Lab went to shit. Sure, it had a few poor episodes before, but after it went to a new art director and writers, then it really became something along the lines of that obnoxiously stupid show they had on that had like two episodes ever, "Yucky Duck". There's a show that digs up both Chuck Jones and Tex Avery, skullfucks them, and then shits in their eye sockets by trying to rip off their gags and failing miserably since it has no style of its own.

Invader Zim...another good thing ruined by clueless people at the helm.

Invader Zim = Fallout
Nickelodeon = Titus

The real funny thing is that N used to have Ren and Stimpy, which was a pretty damn oddball cartoon most of the time. I guess they wanted to go for the "mainstream" shit, which is a shame since what put N on the map was their eccentric nature.

I only enjoyed a few episodes of Samurai Jack, but my complaint is the universe has no solid ground. They throw everything in it from ravers to southern pigs to frickin robotic 20's gangsters. I saw no point in the show.

And then there's Ruruoni Kenshin, which I didn't like either, but I've only watched two episodes. There's too much Japanism without defining what the heck is going on.

"Yamusuchi from the Takayira era uses the Myogi technique to defeat the Imperial Watanabi"

"Oh no, the Myogi technique! It's supreme power has never been surpassed! We must consult the Kamakura!"

What the heck is going on? They just bombard me with this terminology and jargon and expect me to know it immediately? Don't the people that make the episodes have at least thirty seconds to do a recap of what happened?

Gundam SEED interested me more than RK.

And no 1 knows how samurai jack was inspired to become a samurai tsk tsk tsk , Well it all started by watching a fight between some bad mf ninja's and lone wolf , so lone wolf was his inspiration when he was a child .

If no1 knows who lone wolf is search him up on google , as "LONE WOLF AND CUB"
"Hey aint that a pip boy there Reggie ?"

"That aint no Pipboy Jonny Thats a Frickin GAME BOY "
