someone should pitch FO3 to BioWare.

almost everything bioware has done to date has been pretty golden. atari isn't doing much wrong either. look at knights of the old republic.

anyway, maybe someone high-up somewhere can make things happen.

i dont think the bos files are uncompressed. after unzipping them i lost a gig of space (i deleted the original bos files too, btw)

Hexing Fallout Tactics

i just got to thinkin... lots of stuff is hard coded, such as perks...

but lots of the perk shite are simple values (such as bonuses to barter)... so wouldn't it be conceptually easy to change these values with a hex editor?

does anyone know how fallout accesses the 'bos' files? does it access the zip files directly, unzip/archive them and read them like that? and in that case, does it delete the archived files if you're not using them? im just a little cuirous to know.

hmm... then how do slug rounds work? thats fuckin odd... because shouldn't slug rounds work like regular bullets and not have a spray? but do they still have a spray in-game?

im going to start working on an MP weapons mod shortly.

although i dont know the limitations of whats hardcoded and what can be changed... im gonna try evening out MP.

okay, how should i go about unpacking the files? should i unzip all the .bos files and then delete the .bos files?

then what about packing the mods?

do i just zip all the edited files into a .zip/.bos with the -path feature?

Panic is for a FPS and the like, tactical games generally just don't get the pulse racing in the same way. well considering you put time and effort into these characters and having them die off is never fun... its kinda like playing hardcore diablo 2 characters. yea, usually with mods all players have to have the same files... anyway, about editing races, can you change things like base stats, min/max stats, perk rates, starting tag skills, available traits/perks? and what i was asking about the armor is if its possible to let the super mutants wear more ar...

Why not just come out and say it? You know, "This game was designed to milk an established franchise." :lol: *L* i must've accidentally left that one out Starting the story with a vault citizen from a new vault would of established the link to the old games much quicker than using the BOS...
