Hey guys I've been (believe it or not) too busy playing Fallout to get back on this site, but I thought I'd say that the Direct X thing solved the problem. Thanks!

Go to the Start menu and select run. In the text field type dxdiag. It is the diagnostic tool for whatever DirectX version you are running. It mostly shows information. Personally I would go to the sound card settings from Control Panel and turn off acceleration. Thank you! I'll see if that works.

No, official copy, made by interplay.

I'll try the dxdiag thing.

EDIT: or er... wait, what's the dxdiag? How do I get there? i'm not used to working with PCs.

Oh, maybe I phrased my complaint wrong... it doesn't happen once in a while. It happens all the time. No voice over ever.

I miss my voice over!

Install the patches and/or describe your 'issues' in detail. Well, the PC's my girlfriend's laptop, so I don't know it's specs, though it should be able to play Fallout fine (it can play Deus Ex and Longest Journey, much more recent games). But it has XP on it, so that can eff things up. In any cas...

Should I get for the Mac?

Fallout seems to have a lot of issues in the PC version... does anyone know if the Mac version has the same problems?

No death?

One of the best things I remember from Fallout was the death screen, where the guy says that not even the carrion crows will touch your radiated corpse... or something like that.

Today I died and the screen came up, but only for a couple seconds and no voice over played. What's that about?

That's a wierd one, ain't it? It didn't happen the last time I installed the game, but it is this time. It only happens every fifteen minutes or so, though, and I just clear the screan with the pip.

Skills

If I recall, there wasn't much use for skills like repair, gamble, and science, was there? The combat skills are much more helpful. Trying to recall this as I build my character.

Instruction Manual

Hey everyone, I remembered playing Fallout long ago with my friend, and wished to replay it greatly. I bought a double pack at Fred Meyer (Fallout 1 and 2 for like, 10 bucks) but it doesn't have an instruction manual with it. Does anyone know where I can get a PDF of Fallout 1 and 2 instruction manu...
