Except not. They're both morons.
I think MMORPGs should be covered, as long as they're post-apoc. In other words, duh. There's no use crowding out a legitimate genre just because we all think we're too cool for World of Warcraft. It smacks of elitist snobbery, which ain't gonna work if we want DAC to have more traffic. (And we do want DAC to have more traffic, right? Right?)

i explained it in this thread http://www.duckandcover.cx/forums/viewt ... 387#201387 so i dont feel like writing it all over again.
but basicly mmorpg doesent have to be pay to play or have thousands players speaking "u 5uCk, i ownagez0red u" lang. it can contain only your friends or friendly player base of 100 poeple online at most. and if you run a server on your own than u decide rules of it. so if u want to ban all players that dont spell good than you just do it.

well rpg can be different thing. japanese manga rpg and fallout rpg are 2 kinds of it. there is difference. if u came to a forum with people that hate japanese manga rpg and they never played or heard about fallout, you would say that they dont know what rpg actually is.
mmorpg that i am making is gonna be designed for about 100 players online at same time (to reach that you need 3000 active accounts). anything above that will make it look like non PA game hance it doesent really look like wasteland with crowded town of 1000 players. but it will be posible to have unlimited players online if your pc can handle it.
and anyone that wants to set upp server will be able to run it. 100 players server is going to be able to be runed on 1000 mhz, 320 ram machine and broadband. so absolutly anyone can do it.
even worse pcs will be able to set upp server. i know a guy that runed server for his friends on dialupp 56 modem. but he was only able to have 5 players that lived near him online.
