Fallout 1/2 - how to get one?

Post by NordicTiger »

My problem is that I bought Russian version of these games (which later appeared to be pirated, it still hurts me because I payed more than for 1/2 combo and I actually don't like software piracy).

So I want to have good old legal english version of these games. Only bad thing is that I don't know how to get one? Interplay and other e-shops are not shipping to Estonia or Latvia. So my question is:

Is there any eShop available who is shipping to pure old Eastern-European post-soviet aborigens?

Is there any shop in Helsinki there I can buy it? Or in Barcelona or in New Orlean (these are my travel targets in near future).

Regards,
NordicTiger

Amazon.co.uk seem to be shipping their stuff everywhere (opposed to Amazon.com who only ship to the USA - not even Canada or Mexico).
At least I think so...

Glad I could be of service.
If it's the U.K. version I recommend patching FO2 to 1.02d if it isn't already and download the gore patch to get some kids and all death anims. It's a 37 MB file though. http://fallout.gamesweb.com/f1/downgeneral.htm

I just saw the fallout radioactive box set the other day. Almost bought it but it was 25£ for fo1+2+tactics, and all that was different was that it came in a chunky box.

Might buy it if it gets to 15£.

Does it(FO radioactive) contain US version of all fallouts, if you buy it in Europe? Would suck to get a low violence version

I don't think they sell low-violence version any longer. I saw something about all different versions in a thread somewhere in here. Guess you could search on the subject. Still, I think it sux they don't sell the american version of the game here :( . But you could still patch it up :D . Thanx to the german guys who gave us the gore patch.

You can buy F1 + F2 + FT box in Poland for 99 zloty (about 20$). Only Tactics is in Polish, F1 and F2 are in English (UK version).

Tell that to those of us who spent maybe 50-60$ US to buy both games when they first came out. :D
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Yeah, but I guess the original packages are worth it. I remember seeing Fallout 1 in a game mag, full version for free(you had to buy the mag of course). That's a really nice bargain.

One thing disturbs me though. I got the game Desperados as xmas present last year. And now you get it for free in a package of cereals. It was my xmas present ffs!

Yeah, those original are definitively worth it  . Especially the non-english versions. I wonder who's idea it was to translate the manual of FO1? The swedish version are quite amusing to read. It looks like someone who don't know any swedish at all sat with a cheap dictionary and translated. Thank God that they included a english version as .pdf. Anyway, I got mine on sale. (Think it was 8$ for FO1 & 9$ for FO2.
But 35$ for Desperado  . Tough.
