What star ocean are you talking about? The new one? That ones not so great compared to Star Ocean 2 IMHO.

Edit: I also didn't like Chrono Cross honestly. Compared to Chrono Trigger it honestly sucks. Compared to alot of rpgs it sucks. A good RPG for PS2 is Suikoden 3 now that I think about it.

Edit2:
Why did I buy this game?
Cause you bought the wrong one. If you were listening to me I said Star Ocean 2 for PS1.

You could tell he bougt the wrong one before he even did. "ill go to the store and pick it up in a couple minutes" just boggles the mind if your talking about an older videogame. Good job doing your research and not buying on the spot<3 lol teatime

Sovy, I had to read your post through my fingers for fear of reading any spoilers. KEEP IT TO YOURSELF, DAMMIT. Not all of us have finished the game yet.

Cripes, they did this to me for FF7, too. "OMG AERIS DIES WTF??!!11!?"

Isn't that the one he's talking about?

No. He's talking about Star Ocean: Till the End of Time or something. It's an ok game, but Star Ocean 2 is bettar. Supposibly till the end of time becomes +20 better like 100 hours in. I haven't gotten that far yet so I don't know, College keeps me busy.

Star Ocean 2 is for the PSX, though. You could take a look at Electronic Boutique for it, but eh, chances are slim you'll get it. Star Ocean 2 is a pretty good linear RPG. The combat system is action orientated, yet simplified for any console RPGer.

Subhuman;

What are you talking about spoilers?

Yeah, Chrono Cross < Chrono Trigger. If you think about it, CT was not a pure jRPG. Battles were pretty quick(You didn't had to watch 30-minutes long battle translation), so were moves and menus. You could avoid battles if you wanted - useful in New Game+(Another good thing). CC has battle translations, 10-minutes long teechniques, and only ONE battle music which was REALLY, REALLY hurting my ears.

As fr Star Ocean 2 thing, I played it after CC, when I already realised sheer stupidity of jRPGs, and guess what? I didn't like it :drunk:

Catch this - I've read about this in the game review. Yes, IN THE GAME REVIEW. And it was one of the biggest computer magazines at that time(PC Version). I have no words.

What about Valkyrie Profile? From the pile of games I got to check for PSOne, this one actually interested me. Well, it's a bit too talkative at the beginning, but the fights are great - am I playing RPG or fighter here? :)

[Edit] Meh.

final fantasy 7 or 8 ... ps1 games but they work with the ps2 and need a ps1 memory card.

both of those are fairy decent and big rpg's

as for ps2 games,

gta3, vice city and gran turismo3 are good.

Can you actually use your PS1 mem cards IN the PS2 to save your PS1 games?

I don't know about PS2 but I've got an Xbox and its got some pretty damn good games.

Halo
Ninja Gaiden
Chronicles of Riddick
Burnout 3
Fable

Plus I like the Xbox controller shitloads better than that tiny assed PS2 controller.

yes, you can, all ps2's are backwards compatible with ps1 games and hardware.

games released when the ps1 was first released may have problems, but the latter ones wont.

nb: you cannot save progress from a ps1 game onto a ps2 memory card.

yes, you can't.

Is there anywhere where you can get official control pads cheap? Or are there any cheap ones that are any good? Because I need a new one. The other broke. It is broken.

'kingdom hearts' is a good 'rpg'
What planet was this person from?

First of all it's anime rpg quizzeerness. Then add some disney characters to the mix, on top of the wretched battle system, a trademark of squaresoft rpgs.
