New server

Most of you will be pleased to know DAC is moving to a new host in about a week or so. DarkUnderlord tells me that you won't notice much as the switch will go on 'behind the scenes'.

I'll make a news post when stuff actually starts happening, as at the moment all that's going on is the site is being prepared for a move - again, by DU. The new host is the same one that hosts RPG Codex, so they're a proven speedy, reliable host.

These benefits mean that money has to be invested in DAC. Again, this will all be more official when the site move has actually happened, but there will be a donate button where you can donate some money direct to the host (ie no third party, not even a DAC admin) to help pay for the site's upkeep.

Just to let you know so that you can start saving your cash...

It will be a button like FR posted, yes.
There will also be some ads - undecided on what, but a possibility of something like a pop up ad displaying (for those who don't have them blocked) once every eight hours or something.

Basically, we need to pay for the server and I'd like to be paying as little as possible - ads, donations, whatever, help bring that cost down.

We are, but there's an option for pop ups as well (small ones), that would reduce the cost even more.
