Hm... Well, I have no idea how things work in phpbb, but at least Invision boards can do that easily, without scripting of any kind. Just clicking some shit through the Admin interface, I've done that stuff.

Well... I guess if all else fails, you could make every forum besides Asshats a "special group" forum, and make every member besides the "asshats members" a part of the group.

Yup Franz, that's what I'm doing.

The mod I'll be installing (after a bit of testing) will automagically assign everyone to a usergroup as soon as they join. We can then take asshats our of that group and wallah! No forum access.

Yeah. Pretty sure those VB Forums can do that too... phpBB 2.2 is also *supposed* to have the same kind of flexibilty from what I understand but that's not finished yet.

The beauty of this is that once DU gets the scripts in place, we'll ALL be able to post wasteland-material in the ASSHATS forum

Can you make a locked and stickied thread in the Asshats forum where you keep an updated list of the members currently restricted to that forum? (I'm assuming people who get put there are eventually allowed to return to the other forums, excepting FR and Janus)

I thought the whole point of the Asshats was to work as a penalty box -> by ice hockey terms: you don't see "normal" players skating to the penalty box to have a chat with their penalty-given team mates.
