Tools a modder might find usefull

Tools as in programs. I personally think, Photoshop 5 and higher as essential.Same goes for Paintshop pro 6.0 and above. Endocore used Poser quite much. What else do you think a modder could use(that don't cost a fortune)?

How do you upgrade from Paint Shop Pro 5.x to PSP 6 or 7... it would seem that there is no "bridge" for patches between the versions, and they'd want you to go and buy a new one...
Reason I need to upgrade is that my alpha options aren't fully working, im thinking it's just something with PSP 5.3, but whenever i save a .png file it immediatly dumps the alpha channel in place of a white background... very distressing.
