Any plans of putting RSS feeds on the forums, or the site?

Really Simple Syndication. A way of publishing headlines/news/content in a standardized fashion.

Commonly you use RSS readers to aggregate your news, and notify you of new content.

I don't know if DAC is really interested in this, but I am for my site.

There is no specific 'program' that deals with the creation of feeds. Just about every blog software generates RSS feeds. There is a very easy to use PHP class that can generate on the fly rss feeds for you:

I use this on lots of different sites.

PHPBB and other forums have hacks that automagically generate RSS feeds, its pretty slick.

I don't have total access to my server (I'm an admin, but the owner doesn't know how to set up 2 users for our server, or some shit) but I will send him this info...

I would like to see it. Maybe not for all the forums but at least for "In The News". I use Sharpreader to check the latest posts in many blogs and from other web sources. It is the best way to check up on many pages without surfing all of the time.

Well, most of the rss plugins are for 2.0.6 phpbb, they might work though.

Heh. Just wait 'til our bandwidth usage becomes too much and I pull it down. I'll keep my eye on it though and work at reducing it (gzip, HTTP conditional get etc...)
