No New Sprites

I got an email back from Chris Avellone after I asked him about getting any sprites from Microforte's work on FOT2. Here is his answer:

I talked with Feargus, and the answer was pretty much what I expected. He said there isn't much, but if we ever do a sequel, we'd
probably want to make use of it.

Carrier As Operative?

Well done, ever consider a carrier as an intelligence operative?

Might not go to this well too often, but it appears as valid a way to get the "drift" of their present consensus, or BETTER than any stated public (dis)information release.

At least they are still optimistic enough to care about a possible future.

Oh well, we still have Mr. Davies' try on FoT1 sprites that were unreleased. Perhaps they will not want these.

Really? I will try to communicate my country's magazine reporter to see if he can help there. Additionally, if this is the case, I would say we have good chances of getting it from Mr. Davies(Gareth) also...

Er, the taxi falls under FOT2 sprites, as it was slated to be used. Sorry guys. :(

Well, I was thinkin' there was some way to release just the frames of animation that are broken (in a compressed form, of course), and make some way for us to "insert" the fixed frames into the version of the sprite we already have.

It's okay, Section8. This actually saves me the work of searching for an appropriate and usable picture of Ernest Borgnine in a Cabby's hat for use as a pilot for it. :lol:

Max Violence: Wouldn't we need to Sprite editor to insert frames of animation into a SPR file? What about the non-modding folks out there that would dl your missions only to find that the ReaverHuge couldn't use that nifty rocket launcher you'd given him/her?

Not really possible unless you use some kind of patch program (remember those old DOOM pathers?) or maybe a custom made util to insert frames, but that'd probably be complicated and buggy and not worth the trouble.

Sorry, I was thinking that there were more than just the male/female sprites for the Reavers, just like for the Raiders. On the latter you can set the sex to female for Huge and Large types and the sprite is the same.
