Fallout 1 ==> Fallout 2 conversion?

Fallout 1 ==> Fallout 2 conversion?

Does anyone know if its possible to convert the maps and stuff from fallout 1 to fallout 2. It would be cool to make a complete port into the fallout 2 engine. Have a bit better control over the NPCs and maybe even drive the car!

Ha ha ha; Fallout 2 uses the same engine as Fallout. The car and NPC control were just added in. Sorry to disappoint.

Oh, but it could still be done - BlackIsle did it.

I had a suspission that that might be the case, thanks for confirming it. I dont suspose that anyone would know how to do it? Which would leave two ways of doing it.

1) Adding the extra controls etc... into fallout 1 or...

2) Importinf all of the fallout 1 game into the updated fallout 2 enviroment.

Though its sure to be more complicated than that

Forgot that you would need to add a car quest somewhere into the original game.

This be the easiest way to go about it- much easier than adding the functionality of FO2 to the FO1 engine.
