Nightkin you're doing this tournament all wrong. It's a bad idea to arbitrarily pair up shows to each other and have them eliminate each other. Instead you should have everyone vote for exactly three of the shows on the list, then tally the number of votes for each one, and put them in a ranking based on how many votes each show got. Much simpler that way, plus you don't have quality shows being eliminated in the first round simply because they have the bad luck to be paired up with a powerhouse like Family Guy or something.

I'll give an example of why you suck: CSI and Family Guy, both very popular shows, are paired up with each other. Doing it my way, they could each get almost the same number of votes and end up in 1st and 2nd place overall. But with your way, one would edge out the other, making the whole thing an all-or-nothing affair, which isn't very fair to the loser. And even if you are implementing some sort of double-elimination system, the discrepency of final ranking is still not very accurate.

The only reason tournaments are often set up this way is because the nature of the competition itself usually requires pairing. In the case of a tv show vote, it doesn't require pairing.

the only shows worth voting for on that entire tournament list are Quantum Leap, Stargate SG-1, Family Guy, South Park, mXc, and possibly CSI
