Lives of the Rich and Famous

Post by Wolfman Walt »

Out of curiousity, everyone seems to have a tale about meeting some famous person. Since I figure the DAC community is pretty.....vast, I was wondering, who is the most famous person you ever met(constitutes as "Talk to" or atleast "Shook hands with")? Were they atleast cool? Most famous person I ever met was probably either Doink ((The wrestler)) or Jerry Rice. Doink was doing a show in my town and I met him and got his autograph somewhere. Jerry Rice was a friend of my friends father and they went fishing together and I happened to be in house at the time.

I went to a con, and there was a panel with Fred Gallagher from Megatokyo and the guys who do Penny-Arcade. My friend and I walked out ten minutes into the thing, since it was a bunch of people dressed as anime characters almost giving the three guys handjobs for "BEING RTEH BEST ON TEH INTARNAT".

At the opening of John Woo's "Hard Target", I got to do the splits between to chairs in the lobby of the theater for Jean Claude Van Damme as he was coming up the stairs. Managment let me stay outside after they ushered in the rest of the crowd to their seats. We talked for a minute and then had me talk to this woman for Universal Studios here in Chicago ( their office ) for which I was given a number to call her at a later time.

Anyway, this was YEARS ago and I never followed it up, but I'll say that he was one very nice guy, and pretty genuine.

A few years back I met Lou Ferrigno ( he's fucking massive in person )...apparently I was enthused enough to meet him that I spoke to him with my normal speaking speed, not realising that he's legally deaf and I wasn't probably very coherent even for someone who isn't impaired. :)

Cheers

I met Arnold Shwarzenegger when he came to Connecticut during the special olympics. NO, I wasn't competing! I just happen to live here. He was driving around Southern CT shacking hands and I bumped into him.

Met one of Denmarks most famous comedians (Amin Jensen) at a 18th birthday party, talked with him and so, real nice guy.

And shook hands with Katja Kean on public street.
(I checked if her hands were clean first.)

That's amazing... Hammer, what happened to the guys who were in that plane? I've heard conflicting stories, but the general consensus is that they all went insane.

I met Bruce Willis when I was stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX. That arrogant cocksucker called up post headquarters and said he wanted to come and play with some vehicles, so we got a tasking to provide an Abrams, a Bradley and a Hum-Vee for him. To make a long story short, he no-showed the first time, then rescheduled. He got to play for a morning on vehicles most of you have wet dreams of driving, and it didn't cost him a penny.

He's an arrogant shit, and I hope he dies horribly.

I met Al Gore and Jesse Ventura at the same time when they went to a school around these parts. I think i had failed some classes and was doing remedial type stuff. This was before the 2001 Elections. Not sure why Al chose to go there.

I've also met Goldberg, Chris Benoit(Sp?), and Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg and Chris I met backstage at a WCW event and got their autographs. That same moment the local TV station came and interviewed me on live TV, since the event was one of the biggest the Target Center had seen.

Brock Lesnar came to talk to our wrestling team about how he became a wrestler for Minnesota. This was before he was in the WWF/WWE, and he annouced there that he had been talking with them.

Also, my little brother plays football with the son of the kicker for the Vikings. Or former kicker. I don't follow football much. Anyway, he lives down the street from me.

Most famous person I've met? Michael Palin, I think. He's a swell guy. Personally I'd like to meet Jerry Seinfeld and chat it up with him, he seems like a good guy.

Of course, I will be famous someday, and you can all say you knew me... cool or what?
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I met the guy from the old Hulk series, the muscle bound one. I didn't really meet him I just saw him in a table at a restaurant I went to. Also the main bad guy from the movie with harrison ford based in the future with flying cars, and he been in a lot of other good movies. I "think" i saw him in a resturant where he was in a table across from us, it was either him or a serious look alike.

I also saw this guy in the mirrow who was super famous, and i decided to call him POOPERSCOOPER.

I met that senator who was help in a P.O.W camp, and was on SNL. I forgot his name, but he came to my school and presented us with a flag and talked about when he was in the POW camp and stuff.

I was at the Museum of Flight and saw Bill Nye, he was leaving as we were entering, he said "hi" and left. My freind met him at the Democratic National Convention here in Seattle, he said Bill Nye was an arogant asshole, but Tristan has the tendancy to bring that out in some people. He wanted to see Goretron 2000 speak, I smacked him in the face for that. What a fucking goon.
