I misread it and thought it said Trokia will be making FO3 - but this is just as good.

Looking good. I noticed two things:

1.) If you go to Chris Glenn's actual site, he gives a description of each of his pictures. Underneath those four, it is labeled Post-Apoc, followed by a number, with the description "Series of concepts revolving around a barren location. Can't say too much about it."

2.) Probably a less significant observation, but none-the-less interesting. In the third picture, if you look at the pointy structure in the background, you'll notice that it is reminiscent of the completely unique Chrystler Building in New York City.

Hopefully this is a sign that the Post-Apoc genre is getting new life breathed into it.

Fallout had lots of trees in some areas, it wasnt all barren wasteland ...
Looking at the size of some trees in the concepts, maybe mutation is an option?

First thing that came to mind was that the monklike figure is replanting the earth or something :) some plants really look out of place

It appears to be more fantasy than post-nuke, given the *happily living* trees and the warm blue skies. Still, whatever this is for, it looks promising.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I'm hoping it's going to be cyberpunk or something.

I like the tree pic, nice colours and stuff, some of the trees in the distance look pretty big. This game looks more prehistoric than post-apocalypse WHOOOO BIZARRO

That's just one image. The rest is barren. And those trees look mighty big. You need some nice good ol radiation to get such trees.

Damn this looks good! Let's see more of this.

Not giant, lush trees and postcard blue skies. It looks more prehistoric than anything.

radiation for big trees?

I like fallout but I don't want an exact copy with giant trees and ancient looking roads and stuff. One screen has green looking plains with rivers and stuff, so I doubt that's exactly radioactive. And the creatures on pic #2 don't really look like mutants. The desert dude on the guys site also looks pretty..dune-line. Not a scrap of leather on him, so it can't be post-apocalyptic or something :O bizarro.

By the time this game comes out I think we'll have enough post-apoc stuff to be playing. Look at all the games announced. Looking at the trees and sky, this game looks more wilder and alive than a wasteland? I dunno.

Well, I you'll be able to ask all these questions and more during RPGCodex's upcoming Troika dev chat. Just show up in #rpgcodex on GamesNet on Tuesday at 8 PM EST.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Just to correct something: I DONT want a Troika made Fallout 3. I'm quite happy with BIS doing it, the only disadvantage being interplay's restrictions of Real Time and Multiplayer. Whilst Troika's games clearly are good, neighter Arcanum or ToEE have grabbed me. Arcanum had lots of promise but ultimately was (severely) flawed, ToEE.. .well I just don't like D&D. My FO3 developer wish list, I think, would rank BIS or Obsidian as number 1 as they currently stand, then Troika after that at number 2. Obsidian has MCA and other BIS veterans but I'm not sure how much I would trust Feargus with FO3. Whereas I think JE Sawyer and the other BIS people are pretty clued in about what would make a good Fallout sequal.

There are some people here who might not agree. Personally, I'm looking forward to FRESH post-apoc material.

Look! There's more!(?)

Indeed, might break away all the tension around FO3, not to mention the nightmares I' m having where there' s akimbo rules and prostitutes in every random encounter for FO3.

Did anyone ever think of the possibility that they might break away from our familiorised nuclear post-apocalyptic setting and settle for something more, let' s say, unconventional. Something like a widespread virus or plague (not like the New Plague)? It doesn' t necessarily need to have A or H-bomb blowing the earth to pieces. Mad Max' s universe didn' t need a nuclear apocalyps and it still got wastes, dunes and ruins.

Wow, nice art there BB2.

Looks like it might be science fiction to me there is an air of a ruined civilization with the broken roadways & shattered buildings. Who is to say if it is ours or any relation to ours? The creature & trees could be mutations or could be entirely alien in nature. Time will tell on the project yet the concept ideas do look promising.

Yeah, anyway, most Post-Apoc isn't barren nuked out wastelands. Most post-apoc is actually just the decline of human civilization, ala social collapse or virus. It doesn't even make sense for an entire world to be turned into a desert by nukes, if no plants can live, no matter how adaptive they are, people really aren't gonna be able to live there either - especially with only old, broken technology to work with. So don't go complaining that trees aren't post apoc, green, lush trees aren't Fallout post apoc, and they aren't Mad Max post apoc (even though, who's to say the whole world is like that in MM? Since when does the whole world look like any one place? That desert he's in is really that size irl, so, why does it have to be the way it is because of the war?).

That said, I can't wait, it looks ++ from what I see so far. As long as it's a mature well written game, then I'm all for it.
