I'm thinking of making the armor plates brown to match NCR trooper armor. Any opinions?

I'm re-working ranger combat armor a little to make it look a lot better, and putting Vault 101 in Goodsprings was a terrible mistake which I've reversed.

I've also plotted out the entire Enclave joining story arc including the Broken Steel missions. I'm moving in mid-May so the estimated release date is pushed back to midsummer.

Changed the OP to show what I've done and add in new information. Other than adding in General Cotter, the reputation system is going to be the biggest pain in my dick.

I've had to scale back my previous ideas because huge chunks of Fallout 3 are unfixable because of how it's built. Good news is I think I may be able to also swing an NV only version, too.

I've just finished changing all of Fallout 3's player dialog to sound like something the Courier would say. It felt like Bethesda peeing in my eyes.

Also, improved Reilly's Rangers armor.

Looks good, man.

Looking at the title of the thread, I remembered that DML and I had talked about maybe making a venture into the Unity game engine (what they're using for Wasteland 2), and trying to fuck around with Fallout-y stuff. He wanted a more unique project, but I would be temporarily satisfied with getting to know the engine and producing elements like weapons and character models that share Fallout themes, along with a test map for making sure that they all work. Would anyone else be interested in sampling the engine, or is this something that requires too much time for our busy agendas?

With this TTW mod I'm doing and real life, my time is pretty eaten up. I think your best bet is to wait for Wasteland 2's modding tools to come out.

Also, on this front, I estimate I'm about 70% done. I've gotten all the mutant story in - was also able to figure out how to make Germantown let you use your words instead of hitting - and what's left is to add the Vault 87 confrontation with the big bad and a band of Enclave mutineers to make up for the fact I can't change the game to let you side with them until Broken Steel starts.

The vanilla Fallout 3 content is still painful sometimes, but with your character being well-spoken and my new characters routinely pointing out how backwards and messed up DC is, it's livable. The mutant stuff I've added makes it all a lot easier for me to swallow.

Also, if anyone's still paying attention, I just released two TTW mods, basically both of which make you not sound like an idiot in Fallout 3. http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/cont ... hancements is one and there's a link to the other inside. This is the first stage of the project being released; figured chopping it up into multiple mods would be a better idea with all the changes I'm making.

Hopefully this weekend I'll get the armor changes on Nexus as a standalone thing.

I got the armor done, it's still sitting around. Then I got real heavy into helping the TTW team, combined with a fuckton of personal stuff.

Then I stabilized with a real job that leaves me little time for modding.

I found and used the funny dialog mod Ret made separately in a TTW playthrough I did last year. It was nice that your character could bitch about FO3's writing, too.

Speaking of depressing loses to C&D orders, that remake of New Vegas on the Fallout 4 specs was really looking promising before it got squashed
