Board Games

So on New Year's eve I played Munchkin Cthulhu card game with some friends and it sounded like it was going to be a shit fest since I hate card games but it was quite fun so I was looking to try some other games. I was thinking to find a game for like when my sister comes over and we have nothing to do while the kids run around. All we have are kind of like kid games that aren't really complicated enough to entertain anyone who is older or decks of cards to play games that no one understands.

I was thinking something like Ticket to Ride since I heard it's not too complicated but still entertaining. Recommend me some games.

Start with Risk, then get Axis and Allies, then get Twilight Imperium. Best strategy games from easiest learning curve to hardest.

Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 is also pretty fun (its all I've had experience with in the D&D realm) and Dark Heresy is fun as hell, too. Of course you should only get those if you know everyone would want to play traditional pen and paper RPG's.

Well, in all fairness, you ruined assholes for everyone else. Not that I was a fan to begin with, mind you.

Goatse man predated my arrival on the board.

I merely made a collage called Duckse that recreated goatse using all the real life pictures of DACers posted in the thread for that.

Fixed.

Who was it then, with all the goatses and quote pyramids?

About 90% of DaC prior to 2006.

Damn, that was before I even started lurking, which was like mid-2006 (I wait a long time before I join forums).

my favourite board games are scrabble, trivial pursuit, connect 4 and chess.

scrabble is p. good, depends if youre playing with RANK AMATEURS who dont know how to use the fucken multipliers properly (lol i mean rly?)

trivial pursuit is good but some of the questions are really obscure and hard. me and +pal went through all the science questions one afternoon so i was good at those for a while but maybe not now

connect 4 is classic of course

chess is how i like my women, black and wooden

Thank you for the real reply, megatron. All you others ruined a perfectly good thread with massive ta-ta's.
