It`s gonna be SPECIAL Oblivion with guns!

Since Bethesda decided to make Fallout 3, we figured we might as well have a forum about it.

It`s gonna be SPECIAL Oblivion with guns!

Post by DaC-Sniper »

:aiee:

1UP Firstperson realtime propaganda
Also check the funny Bethesda`s developer profile:
On Gameinformers cover, there stands, that they want to reinvent the roleplaying classic.

In DAC's interview with Todd Howard back in 2005, we confirmed that Bethesda would be using SPECIAL:
Will you be using the SPECIAL system in Fallout 3?

Yes, we have rights to it and plan on using it.
Setting: 50`s postnuclear warsetting // see teaser trailer
Brotherhood of Steel: Confirmed // see teaser trailer
use of S.P.E.C.I.A.L: Confirmed // see above
View: Probably Firstperson/Thirdperson
Combat: Unknown, trend to realtime
Dialogues: Yes
Voice: Ron Perlman as Intro-voice, Liam Neeson as father
Release: Fall 2008
Systems: Xbox360, PS3, PC.
--------------------------------------
Summa Summarum:
SPECIAL Oblivion with guns and dumbed down console interface and gameplay. Also RPG of the Year 2008.

Better games to spend your money on:
GTA 4, The Witcher(maybe)

I imagine a friendly reinvention comparable to the difference between 1st ed. GW and 4th ed. GW.

I recall reading a dev post in which the interest was not in the apocalypse but instead the rebuilding.

If they are reading this, maybe an affirmation post is in order. (from them)

Sean: Actually, to play devil's paralegal, I think the only thing that gave me pause was Hellboy uttering that line right at the end. Yeah, we're talking about a friggin' trailer, but if you play some soldier, that strikes me as kinda...well, obvious. I don't really fear that Bethesda will turn Fallout into Gears of War: Radioactive Edition, but part of Fallout 1's charm was that you were just some schlub emerging from your Nuclear Vault into the crazy surface world. Again, this was just a guy and his tagline; god knows what it's got to do with anything.
It sounds like this guy doesn't know that ron Pearlman voiced the first two intros. These are the people that claim to be fans of the game.

Dosnt just sound like, it proves he has absolutly no fucking clue what he is talking about. That article made me very very sad and I wish I had a gun and the addresses of these people so I could go hunting.

I love the part about "it doesn't need to be another isometric turn-based rpg..."

Yeah, because the market is just starving for FPS tiles... jackass.

Well I can't speak for him, but personally I haven't seen a new FPS release in hours. A day at most. At that rate I won't have any FPS games left to finish by 2080.

Because the industry is certainly suffering from the latest glut of similar titles.
