When did the asshole A-1 jocks take over gaming? This used to be a hobby run by decent geeks.

its just sort of a justification for making episodic content and charging the same amount of money per product for three products that should really just be one product. the games industry is now like most every other industry, and revolves around money money money

Guess that means the industry has become successful.

It has hit the big time.

Niche markets will be exploited after major areas have been colonised and saturated.

The niche exploitation may be half-assed, but perhaps serious contenders will emerge.

Games are shitty these days, it's a fact. swell guy want to play GTA and retarded imbred losers wanna play Halo. There is no RPG anymore, but shini grafix with numbers.

Happens to every good thing eventually. Genuine geeks will be lost in time and everybody in the world will bow down to Halo Theft Auto: Oblivion.

The guy has a point though, some games(RPGs especially) are waaay to lengthy to remain interesting. 20-25 hours should be the maximum for a single playthrough regardless of genre.

Always. Most hours are spent on useless stuff anyway.

Same thing with movies; If it's lentghier than 2 hours it better be fucking worth it.

Some people actually enjoy this 'useless stuff'.

And why playing games at all? It's so useless...

Vasikka was probably referring to useless dice rolling, dumb quests and stat upping/up leveling

If the game has good quests, dialogue or fun adventure it's all good, though, I think. Just like in Fallout ^.^
One can finish Fallout in 15 minutes or in a few hours, just like one wants.
