ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO FALLOUT 3

Post by Killzig »

Remember a few weeks back those assholes at Gamasutra asked us to vote on what we thought was the most innovative RPG (evar!)? Well, they've finally gotten back to us with results, and guess who's #1? That's right! Diablo!

I keed, I keed.
Fallout, because of the quantity of possibilities it offered to the player : for the first time, you were really "role playing" ; I mean playing the role of someone else, in an whole graphically developped universe. The best video role-play experience ever, both in gaming design and in a technical point of view.

You're a bad person.

Also, Oblivion made that list, how sad.

well, I wouldn't rule out GamaSutra greasing the wheels for the impending FO3 announcement by mentioning Oblivion near the top and then pimping Fallout at the top spot. 2 points for Bethsoft in the top 3.

What I thought was the funniest was the complete absence Morrowind. Oblivion will be equally forgettable.

possible because Oblivion's on the list. If you put both M and O it'd be almost like putting F1 and 2 or BG1 and 2.

You're right. I was confused because I saw so many jRPGs on the list. Those are basically all the same game. :chew: Fucking nip bastards.

Diablo II is awesome :)

Actually, it's like the only game that I still have any time for, because I can switch it on for a few minutes, do a few duels and dust. Haven't had any time recently to play games because of uni :@ Even tonight, I'm going to be up until about 4, doing my preliminary reading for lectures tomorrow :(

There we go again xD

Blargh, my doctor's appointment is in 9 hours, and you can be sure that I'll let you know as soon as possible whether I have cancer or not. And now I have to work the entire fucking night, because I spent too much time posting on DAC :@

Moving on swiftly :paper:

edit: basically, the doctor said that I'm fine, I just seem to have serious problems with dehydration. Going for a blood test in a few days to get a definitive analysis on my liver and kidneys.

The first Diablo was somewhat scary when you started playing it at 13 years old.

Also, I liked the fact that the 3 classes could do all the same stuff.

Indeed. The first Diablo had a really cool feel to it. Diablo 2 was comical in comparsion. Just compare the snake creatures for a good example.

Of course, all the new unit types in Fallout 2 had that same goofy/fake feel. The boxers, the bouncers, Vic, the people in San Fran. They all had a very "plastic" feel to them. Anyone else notice that? Oh! And the geckos too. Especially the fire geckos.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " -John 3:16

Hopes. Dreams. You have to live these things. If not, they will remain prisoner within the confines of your mind for the rest of your life.

San Fran was like they stopped trying all together. Scientologists and Asian people doing martial arts! :pelvic_thrust:

Diablo II is all about character building. Unless you go down to the intricities of that, you won't understand the game. And the PvP is awesome, that's the reason for why I'm still playing it.
