Third and final version of Blade Runner?
Third and final version of Blade Runner?
I heard Ridley Scott is gonna re-re-release Blade Runner in 2007, a third and final cut of the movie. It's supposed to go in theaters and then DVD.
Is he just cutting more stuff from the original version once again?

They've been talking about a true director's cut forever. There's several scenes that were removed, such as when Deckard goes to the hospital and some others I don't recall. It will also have the dubbed/undubbed versions and the theatrical release. Unfortunately, the Director's Cut we have now was rushed out then the Blade Runner license was scattered throughout many companies and is stuck in limbo forever.

Stuff is going back in, like the already mentioned scene where Deckard visits Holden in the hospital. I found a clip of it on the interweb somewhere, it looks cool. They're also going to fix some problems, chief among them the fact that you can see the wires lift the spinner when it takes off.
Where'd you hear it'll be released next year? As much as I would like it to be, it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. And where'd you hear it would hit theatres? That would be incredible.

In one of Montreal's two free subway newspaper. They have this "entertainment" section in which they usually tells us about Tom Cruise's loves or Paris Hilton's dildos, but sometimes they have these bits of interesting info.johnnygothisgun wrote:Where'd you hear it'll be released next year? Anyways, I've found the article in my garbage bin, and I'll freely translate it :
Twenty-five years after it's theatrical release, Blade Runner, Ridley Scott's cult movie starring Harrison Ford, Sean Young and Rutger Hauer, will once again be released both on the big screen and on DVD in it's final version. [...]
Then they go on about what happened and why Scott couldn't release the movie he wanted, and later on they say :
[...]We can only hope that the final version, which will come out next year, will be the good one. At least that's what Ridley Scott promises the fans, who will also be able to buy a boxed set with the 3 versions.

They should re-release all great movies in theaters. I would rather see a good old movie in theaters that I've seen ten times than any of the crap that is in theaters now. I don't understand why they don't just do that. It's cheaper than making a new movie.

The Stranger
Sounds like regular pop-rock... too soft for my taste.
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
