feargus is gone from ncr before quest

hi
i'm playing fallout 2 now, and feargus is nowhere to be found, i killed carlson and westin for bishop, dont know if it related..
i cant enter the room where gunthar is because the door stays locked even after i pick it...

seriously this sucks..maybe because i pickpocketed him to get the pass for carlson he got away?
btw sheriff dumont wont speak with me...he says somehting about coroner's inquest?

have you tried to smash the door in with say sledgehammer? remeber to shout as you do this in fallout: 'DRUG RAID YOU FUCKERS!!'

Yeah, but you gotta plant the shit carefully or it doesn't work. swell guy have a 6th sense for things like that.
