So Calm Before The Storm [Special Edition].

Post by Lianora Beró »

EPILOGUE

Over 18 years have passed from the defeating of the Enclave. NRC soon took over the whole California and has been in power ever since. Later BOS took over most of the military bases and vaults within the NRC and turned them to serve their causes.
But now something is happening in La Boneyard. An investigation has revealed that someone is selling weapons to a unknown group and they are now slowly taking over LA.

The mysterious man who left his genes in Vault-City over 18 years ago, has now two children, Jessica and Mark. They both have remarkable skills like their father had. In San Francisco, Both BOS and the local martial arts masters noticed their unique skills. The legacy of the vault tweller moves on.

"Have as your goal to do your best and to make a difference. We are in the world to make a difference,
and everything we do changes the world."
General Redding.

BOS ARU-065: SO CALM BEFORE THE STORM. By: SoulSniper

CHAPTER ONE: SOUND OF SILENCE

A dark slim figure moved smootly and silently on the hills surrounding a small raider cam north west from Junktown. The moonligh revealed the face of the dark figure. She had dark skin and long white hair which waved smootly in the desert wind. The white paint on her face revealed her to be a tribal. She gazed the clear night sky looking for a certain star, her guardian star. She closed her eyes and soon a faint smile appeared on her face. She lied down on the ground next to a huge rock and armed her Bozar slowly. "It´s so calm before the storm..." She said quietly while adding a silencer to her Bozar. She was cold, calm and silent.

Silent death soon stormed over the Raider cam leaving no one alive. "Dead silent complete..." She said and closed her eyes once again.

"I have never seen anything like that...She and her brother both have unique talents..." Martial arts master Shiro Jutaro said to a BOS Senior Squire Martin while they watched Jessica´s smooth but extremely skillfull choreography while fighting. "Indeed...Indeed..." Martin said and nodded. "What are their names?" Martin asked.
"Jessica and Mark Stryder...Why?" Master Jutaro asked.
"We could use their talents..." A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Hai i agree." Master Jutaro said and smiled.
Martin Eyed them very closely, untill he finally approached Jessica and Mark.
"You two seem to be very talented..." Martin said and smiled faintly.
"Well Thank you...We had good teachers." Jessica said and smiled proudly.
"Im Senior Squire Martin..Im a recruiter for the Brotherhood." He said formally.
"So...Are you offering us a chance to join?" Mark asked curiously.
Martin Nodded slowly. "Take these papers, fill them and bring them back to me tomorrow...Can you read or write?.."
"Of course." Jessica said.
"Ah..Good..Right, Come back tomorrow and i will take you to our base." He said and left.

Lianora rised and started to walk down from the hill.."Send the cleanup crew here..." She said coldly.
"Roger that Unit 4..." She put her radio away and walked towards her scouter. She opened the door and put all her equipment on the back seat. She looked up and saw her guardian star shining brightly. She smiled and sat down on the front seat. "Like the ancients said... Bene vixit, qui bene latuit..." She smiled faintly and headed back to BOS vault west from Junk Town.

Sun rised early the next day, and covered the landscape around San Fransisco with bright orange light. Both Jessica and Mark were both up before the sun rised. They were meditating in a Shaolin temple, where they both have been meditating there since their childhood, and learning the ways of ancient wisdoms and martial arts.
They spend much time in the monastery libryary studying, they both had great hunger for knowledge. The ancient book of Zun Tzu, and it´s wisdoms was one their fafourite books. Old monk slowly approached them smiling warmly. "My children...You both have a great journey ahead of you." He nodded slowly and smiled warmly as he always did.

He was a father figure to Jessica and Mark, he was the one who thought them the ancient ways of shaolin, as their father wished. He knew that their father has been watching them grow. He was a great friend of the old monk. He wanted him to teach his children and guide them and when they are ready, they would join BOS as that was their destiny, like their ancestor, the vault dweller .
"Remember my children...To lift an autumn hair is no sign of great strength, to see the sun and moon is no sign of sharp sight, to hear the noise of thunder is no sign of a quick ear...Your talents are astonishing, but do not let that get to your heads...To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself. He said calmly and smiled warmly.

"We wont sama, we wont." Mark said with great respect in his voice.
The old monk smiled again. "Iie my children. You will be tempted to use your skills, Use them only when there is no other way..."
Jessica and Mark nodded.
"You both have a great destiny, like your father had...and his father. Time will show you what i mean.
He took out a wrapped red cloth and gave it the Mark. He opened it and saw two katanas made by the grand masters. "A gift from your father..." He smiled warmly.
A tear appeared on Jessica´s righ eye as she took her katana and hold it sofly in her hands. There was the same carving in both katanas, they were carved in japanese. " Sama..What does these carvings mean?" Jessica asked quietly. "What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease" The old monk said and smiled warmly.
She closed her eyes and bowed her head holding the katana close to her hearth. "Domo father..." She said quietly and another tear appeared.
The old monk smiled and slowly walked away. "Another gift awaits you..." He said while walking away smiling.

Lianora parked her scouter and slowly stepped out. She was tired after the long drive from the Raider camp and wanted to get some sleep. She sat on the scouter hood and rubbed her eyes slowly. The elevator door opened and Paladin Commander Denton stepped out. "Knight Commander Lianora Beró!" Commander Denton said with a commanding voice.
"SIR!." She said and snapped to attention.
"General Redding send me an order to transfer you to San Francisco..."
"Sir?" She said curiously.
"You will be transported to San Francisco by a vertibird today..." He handed her the details about her transfer to the new Unit-065.

CHAPTER TWO: ENEMIES WITHIN

A cloaked man walked towards the home of Jessica and Mark. The wind revealed the advanced power armor which he was wearing under his dusty light brown cloak. When he passed the house he saw Jessica trough the window smiling widely to her brother. A proud warm smile appeared on the man´s face when he saw his children. "...I love you both...." He said quietly and dissapeared to the grouds. "Look what i bought!" Mark said to Jessica. "What did you buy then?" She smirked. "Guns and Bullets Magazine!" Mark said proudly. Jessica rolled her eyes and grabbed the magazine. "I will read it first" She declared. "Fine!" Mark muttered and sat down on the couch next to his sister and eyed the magazine.

Lianora looked out from the Vertibird window and she saw the endless wasteland, caravans coming from different directions heading nearest towns and villages to sell their goods. Later she saw the destroyed Super Mutant base. NCR and BOS started a project to rebuild it, and now over two years later the building of the ground levels has started. "We are in San Francisco soon ma´am!" The pilot informed her. She nodded slowly and took out the transfer papers.

A Hummer parked near the house of Jessica and Mark, and two BOS officers stepped out, Senior Squire Martin and Recruits Master Shane. They knocked on the door and waited. Mark opened the door and was truly supprised.
"Uhm...Something wrong sir?..." He asked nerveously.
"No...May we come in?" Martin said seriously.
"Sure..." Mark said and let them in. Jessica noticed them and stood up nerveously.
"Right...We have been ordered to transfer you both straight to our special training program. Martin said with a strange voice.
"...Special training program??..." Mark asked.
Recuits Master Shane handed them both a small book and requested them to read them as soon as possible.
"We will come back tonight...So be ready when we come back ok?" He said.
"Yes sir!"
Martin and Shane both nodded and left. As they returned to the Hummer, A Vertibird with a special passenger flew over them towards the base.

Another busy day of repairing started for Hank in the San Francisco Base depot. Hank was a normal looking man who had a strange talking plant named Bob. Hank loved to fix things, and that´s why he desided to join the Brotherhood. "Atleast there is some real things to repair". he thought when he joined.
He Walked towards the depot Quartermaster.
"Good morning sir." He said and waved the wrench in his right hand.
"Good morning Hank" He took out a job roster and looked it for a while.
"Hmm...Ok..Repair that APC over there. Engine failure again. Come back to me when you have finished it." He said and returned to his papers.
"Yes sir." He noded and went to examine the broken engine. "OH for fuck sake!...I just repaired this yesterday!" He said loudly and opened his took kit. Bob the plant looked quite amused and was about to say something but hank got there first.
"Shut tha fuck up!" Hank snarled.
"Hey is it my fault that you cant fix things right!?" Bob protested.
"Well this wasn´t my fault this time!"
"Really now?" Bob smirked.
Hank muttered something and went to get new some parts for the engine.

The Vertibird landed smootly and Lianora stepped out and eyed the surroundings. Two guards came to escort her to Recruits Master Shane´s office.
"You must be Knight Commander Lianora Beró."
"Sir yes sir!" She said formally and saluted.
Shane nodded and motioned her to sit down.
"Right...General Redding wanted to tranfer you here for a...Special assignment."
Lianora nodded slowly.
"Sir...Why me?" She asked.
"Well General Redding appreciates your achievements in the Brotherhood." He said.
Lianora smiled proudly. "So...What is my assignment then sir?"
"You will be the Squad Leader in the new 065 Unit. It is a speacial unit formed by General Redding himself.
"The president also assighned some specialist to train your unit and later aid you during missions." He added.
"The president...What is going on sir?" She asked curiously.
Shane looked at her for a moment. "I really dont know." He said and took out some files and handed them to Lianora. "Those contain the details of your unit. Personel files, training program...Everything." She took the files.
"There will be a meeting later this week. We will know more then...But in the meanwhile we will start the training program." He said.

Meanwhile at the depot Hank was adding the new parts to the engine when the Quartermaster approached him.
"Hank. I got a message from the top." He said.
"hmm..Dont tell me...I have to repair some goddamn rust buckets!?"
"No no..You have been assigned to special training program. you will be trained to repair Vertibirds and other equipment."
"what tha f...Did you hear that Bob!?"
"Hmm..What is it now!?" Bob said while eating a rat.
"We are moving upstairs!" Hank said with a wide smile on his face.
"How very interesting...Now let me eat this rat in peace will you?"
"Sure sure!" Hank said and smiled.
"wow..This is really something sir..." Hank said proudly.
"It sure is Hank. Now go back your things, Recuits Master Shane is waiting for you...Wait..Take a bath first before you go to meet him will you?" He smirked.
"Will do sir!" Hank laughed.

The cloaked man stepped into General Redding´s office. He was carrying a strongly locked briefcase which he handed to Redding.
"I now have the proof..." The man said coldly.
"Are you sure Oath?" Redding asked.
"Yes..Someone is selling weapons and plans..." Oath eyed the briefcase for a moment and then motioned Redding to open it.
"What the hell!...Where did you get these??" Redding asked with a agitated voice.
"From a small Mercenary camp. It seems that someone hired mercenaries to transfer those files..." Oath said calmly and rubbed his forehead.
Redding Shaked his head when he saw amount of plans and documents inside the briefcase. "I must notify the prisident about this!...This is more serious than i thought" He said and closed the briefcase.
"Find the leak Oath. And fast before anything worse happens!" He added.
Oath nodded slowly.

Oath walked towards his hummer. His mind was completely occupied by the briefcase and it´s contence. He took out a map which he found on one of the dead mercenaries. The map was badly burned but there was one readable location, LA Boneyard and the name Roy. "I need a Vertibird to LA Boneyard...Access code 00457685" He said to his radio. "Checking....Access code verified. Your vertibird will be ready in 30 minutes sir." A voice replied.

The whole La Boneyard was only partially under BOS and NCR control, the rest was controlled by gangs, gangsters and different cults. When New Reno was taken over by the BOS and NCR, La became the new capital of crime within NCR.

"Death is here and death is there, Death is busy everywhere,
All around within , beneath, above is death...And we are death..." A man said while sitting inside his hummer. "Sir?" The mercenary captain asked.
"We have a problem... One my briefcases was found during a Brotherhood raid..." He said calmly.
The mercenary captain nodded slowly.
"That means that there´s a problem now in La Boneyard. Me and my clients do not need anymore setbacks..Take care of it now." He said coldy and started the hummer engine.
The brotherhood sighn flashed in the campfire light when the hummer passed it.

CHAPTER THREE: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES.

Oath´s hummer stopped near the hangar enterance. He slowly stepped out and watched the clear night sky for a moment. He watched while other vertibirds smootly flew over the hangar area. "I hate those damn things...But still it is the fastest way to get to LA Boneyard..." He thought to himself.
"Your vertibird is ready to fly sir!...Cover your ears sir, these engines are quite loud!" The hangar quartermaster said loydly and covered his ears. Oath did the same and followed the quartermaster while he walked towards the vertibird. Oath eyed the strange machine supiciously but finally sat down next to the pilot who had a strange smirk on his face. "Never flown before sir?" The pilot yelled trough the engine voice. "I have...Years ago!" Oath responded and closed the passenger side hatch. The quartermaster checked the machine and tapped twice the window on the pilot´s side. The vertibird started to move slowly away from the hangar. Moment later the pilot ingreased the power in the engines, and the machine was soon in the air.

When Oath´s vertibird flew over Jessica and Mark walked slowly towards their unit barrack room. "Dont you just love to run with full gear on?..." Mark said tiredly. Jessica gave him a blank look and slumped on her bed. Lianora smirked to Jessica and helped her to unback her gears. "You will get used to this" She said with a smirk. Moments later Hank and the rest of the unit´s six members arrived and dropped on to the floor.
"Right...Unback your things and get ready for tomorrow´s lovely training. She smirked and made some notes. Lily Yu slowly rose up from the floor and started to drag her backbag toward her closet. She cursed something in Japanese while dragging the backbag. Her comments made Auley McKenna smile widely. He was a big strong man with a thick red beard. He had a Irish accent which sounded quite wierd in others ears. "Need a hand there lass?" He said and smiled "Hai, thank you san" Lily said and smiled back relieved.
Auley picked up her backbag easily with one arm.
"Well that´s something..." Mark said with a smirk. "Indeed..." Jessica replied quietly and put the rest of her gear to her closet and closed it.

The wasteland was calm and silent in the blue moonlight. But the silence was soon broken by the vertibird engines. He took out a small metal box. It contained two P220 Sig Sauer pistols and four full clips.
"My trusted companions..." He said with a faint smile on his face. He took out the pistols and hid them into his cloak.
He took out his Pipboy and turned it on. The Brotherhood logo appeared on the center of the screen. "Loading..." A female voice said and a small text appeared under the Brotherhood logo. Moments later the main menu appeared on the small screen. "Finally!..." Oath snarled and pushed the map acrhives button. "Loading map archives..." The female voice informed. Finally the map list appeared and Oath choosed the map of La Boneyard. "Loading map 041..."Now...Where shoud i start?..." Oath thought to himself. "Ah..The Gunrunners..Gabriel and Zack of course!" He snapped his fingers and turned off his Pipboy.

A hummer stopped infront of a old building in down town San Francisco. Four mercenaries in Combat Armor stepped out to the dark street and armed their Ruger AC556F assault rifles. "All clear sir." The mercenary captain said.
The man in the hummer nodded slowly and closed his Pipboy and then stepped out. The door opened and two men came out. "They are all here now Mr Loxley" Loxley nodded and motioned the mercenaries to stay outside. He passed the two men at the door and walked towards the meeting room in the third floor. He watched all the heavily armed guards walking on the hallways while he walked towards the stairs. He was a tall muscular man. His face and body had many scars, reminders of the past battles. He passed the last two heavily armed guards in the third floor and opened the door. He walked next to his chair and put a briefcase on the table and sat down.
"We have a small problem gentlemen..." Loxley said calmly. A brief silence filled the room for a moment untill one of the eight men in the room snapped his fingers.
"I trust that you will take care of it right?..." He asked with a low voice. Loxley nodded slowly and opened his briefcase. The briefcase contained four Glock 68 Plasma Pistols. "Now to business...Mr Hightower, your weapons." Loxley said and handed the briefcase to Hightower. "Yes, Excellent...Excellent" He nodded and cave Loxley a small metal box which contained large amount of money.
Suddently the door opened and four men wearing Combat Armor stepped in. Behind them came a man wearing a cloak. Loxley and the others stood up when he came into the room. "Elder Langley" Loxley said and nodded. "Shut the hell up Loxley!...Take care of that problem in La personally." Langley ordered.
"It´s just a small problem." Loxley protested.
"Paladin Commander Oath Abaró is on his way to Boneyard!...it´s not a small problem anymore Loxley!." Langley said walking slowly around the room. He walked next to Loxley and said his final words before leaving. "Make certain that no stone stands, that no creature crawls..."

The vertibird landed to a Brotherhood base northwest from Junk Town. "This will take some time sir." The pilot said and stepped out. Oath did the same and stepped out from the vertibird. The engine voices slowly calmed down and the desert wind brought it´s calming sounds. Oath remembered his initiate times which he spend here. "Vault Alpha one..." He said quietly while looking at the Vault enterance. Today the enterance was surrounded by hangars and barracs. Initiate and fully trained squads marching towards the desert, maintenance crews working on different vehicles and officers watching over the people under their command.
"All available medical personel, all available medical personel, code one i repeat, code one on ground level." A female voice said through a speaker. Whew minutes later two APC´s stopped at the vault enterance where the medical personel was waiting. Those two APC´s were full of wounded soldiers, which the medical personel carried inside the vault. "Two squads down...Damn!...We need some serious firepower to calm things down in LA!." One officer muttered while watching his wounded companions. "La is a battle zone now, gun fights every single day! We need more people here, more people and weapons...Everything!" The officer said and watched his companions again for a moment. "How long have things been like this?" Oath asked. "Well..almost 8 months sir...We have been able to keep things rather peaceful untill they got new weapons somewhere...Light, heavy and energy weapons. When those weapons arrived our luck turned." The officer shook his head slowly. Oath nodded slowly. "Is General Maxson still in charge here?" Oath asked. "Yes sir, but he is very..." Before he could say busy Oath was already running towards the vault enterance.
The first level was busy as always, but the medical emergency almost got the whole base on it´s knees.
Finally the elevator door opened. All hell was loose in level four. Scribes, elders and officers all doing their best to keep Alpha One and other operations up and running. The clock was four in the morning but it didn´t matter in this situation. "General Maxson" Oath said and saluted. "What now!?..Oath?" Oath nodded firmly. "What are you doing here?" Maxson asked. "Investigation. Someone is selling weapons to those people in La. And we are pretty sure that is someone in our very own ranks, how high we dont know. But i was going to La when the pilot landed here to refuel or something." Oath explained. "I see...Well that explains a lot..." Maxson said and rubbed his face nerveously. "I need to contact General Redding. I will explain your current situation, and after that LA." Oath said and tapped his nose. "I can´t give you a squad if you are going outside our juristiction." Maxson said with a low voice. "I know, Redding will send a unit here to aid me." Oath said and smiled faintly. He knew that he taking a huge risk by calling 065 to LA. Risking the lives of the unit and his children haunted him.

Roughly a hour later, the whole San Francisco Base woke up. A scribe came into Unit-065 barrack room with a message. "Knight Commander Lianora Beró?" "Here..." She said and took the message."What the...LA?" She sat on her bed and eyed the message suspiciously, trying to figure out the reason. General Redding entered the room. "Right...Night Ops gear. You are all going to Vault Alpha one, our southern base of operations. And from there to LA Boneyard. You will be aiding Paladin Commander Oath Abaró to find a man named Roy. I know that your training has just begun. He said and looked at Lianora for a moment. "Take care of your unit Lianora..." He said and left. Lianora stood up and looked her unit. "Night Ops gear, that means silenced weapons and leather armor. She took a deep breath motioned the unit to follow her.

I desided to add my re edited material and the new third chapter now. The fourth chapter (Buckshots sting like bees) is coming later so no worries! :)

news

Post by Lianora Beró »

 I have now added the second chapter of my story and i have introduced the father of Jessica and Mark..the mysterious man in dusty light brown cloak.

 I am still working on the whole story so new additions and changes will be made soon on both chapters and to the new third chapter as well.

What will happen in the new upcoming chapters? :?:

 Well the rest of the ARU-065 crew characters will be introduced and some other characters too as well. The training begins so we will see how the characters will make it...And how will they work together as a team.

So you may have now realised that im not doing some lame ass story..Im doing my best to create a long Fallout story, with good characters, plot and story telling. They are not "gods" who does not get shot or wounded. some of these characters will die but i wont tell who and how. As i said earlier, you can all post your questions, ideas and suggestions to me and i will reply as soon as i possibly can so post and make a difference! 8)

Far far in the future plots!??
Will they travel to a place called New York?...Does a building called Pentagon excist? Well we will see what happens...

Next news report will be posted when i have written new material.

You was kind enough to read my stuff. So I am returning favour now. Great story - easy enough to read, but not so easy, eh? You don't use difficult description to bother reader. Good move. If you continue with such attitude it will be a good story. The only problem is too finish it, but I think you'll pass through it.

News! news! Read all about it!

Post by Lianora Beró »

As i promised to Follower i will write a news report :D

Main plot:
The man i dusty lightbrown cloak Paladin Commander Oath Abaró finds a heavily armored briefcase during a BOS raid to a small mercenary camp. The contence reveals a leak in BOS ranks. Someone is selling or leaking vehicle and weapons designs. The only clue is a badly burned map which only reveals a one place, one name LA Boneyard and the name Roy.
In the same when Oath travels to La to meet Roy, assassins are send to silence him. The molehunt has begun. Who and how high?...

The Unit 065 crew.
Knight Commander Lianora Beró (Sniper/Recon/light/melee weapons
Knight Auley McKenna (Fire support/ heavy weapons/Explosives)
Senior Initiate Hank (Light weaponry/repairing of electric and mechanical equipment)
Senior Initiate Lily Yu (Unarmed combat/Light weapons/Trown weapons/Medic)
Initiate Jessica Stryder (Unarmed combat/Light weapons/melee weapons)
Initiate Mark Stryder (Light weapons/Melee weapons)

Specialist assighned by the president to aid the unit. These specialist are assighned to train the unit and later aid them by radio and video communication.

Commander: General Redding
Recon/intelligence: Paladin Commander Oath Abaró
Weapons and explosives: Quartermaster Andrews
Mechanical equipments: Quartermaster Banks
Medical: Junior Knight Follett

So my story is forming up to be a highchase thriller. :P

Why did the president assign all these specialist. Well because NCR is still very fragile. Crime is lower than ever, tentions between ghouls and supermutants is better. Even so NCR strugles to keep up law and order within it´s borders. And now when it´s revealed that there are powerfull enemies within it´s borders the president wants to eliminate that treat as fast as possible. Who are they?...Where and why!?...These is the main questions.
If a large conflict starts, NCR and BOS may not have the manpower to stop it. Anarchy will rise and NCR as a country will dissapear.
That´s why the president assighns General Redding to form up a team of specialists to train a new special unit.

I hope that i could soon finish my two new chapters. But will take time. 8)
Also the re-editing will take time. But dont worry i will finish them soon. :P

"Have as your goal to do your best and to make a difference. We are in the world to make a difference,
and everything we do changes the world."
General Redding.

.........................
God's enemies, fall in upon, the knees crawling
Beheading the dead souls, who runaway from their calling
Behold, the white horse, remorse, never the case
Every corner of the world, the battle is taking place
Let the war drum set the pace, you face fire
Resume, from the Temple of Boom, and seek higher thought
Maybe you live, or maybe not, the blade's hot
Many renegades ready for battle, die on the spot
With one shot, one whole city becomes rocked
The clash rages on, people remain calm
Good, bad, all in the balance, you going mad
You can never tell, heaven or hell, the blood shed
And it's all around, you can't run, sit in the cell
When the war's over, the light will shine, covering the spell
Celebrate now, put the blades to rest
No wickedness, only the blessed will hold down

Well it takes a lot of time and energy trying to create a good story.character plots and stuff :morning: But now the plot is ready and most of the characters so only thing to do now is to write the up coming battle scenes (Chapters 3 and 4)

Well you may now know that Cypress Hill is one my sources of inspiration *points to his last message* 8) Music always helps me to write.

My main source of inspiration is work... and books sometimes. When I read it, I see unused possibilities and try to use it in mind...

Battle scenes is rather difficult to describe - that's why I try not to touch it. Well, let's see what do you have in mind  :D

I Will Thanks for the advice mate. :)

Now if somebody wonders what this [Special Edition] means in my story.

I have re-edited the story from the beginning. So that means that i have made some changes to the story, corrected mistakes, added new stuff, new plot and so on.
I also added the new third chapter. Im starting to write the fourth one soon. 8)

I have a question. How many people can a vertibird carry..or do i have to "invent" a bigger version of the vertibird? :?:

Who are you asking it? Arch? Well, I'll try to answer - in a game vertibirds were large enough to carry large amount boxes with weaponry. They looked large enough. I think they can take at least 10 men.

Well, you are author of this story and you have right to add whatever you want 8)
