Green Day isnt the most original band ever, but they write some cool lyrics and play some snazzy riffs. And they are surely one of the least monotone and repetetive bands in their genre.
I havnt heard any other songs from their new album, besides the two hits on Tv/Radio. They seem good, but are abit commercialised thats true, but what isnt now a days? Its not like they copy anyone or make shitty pop music.
Anyways I swear by Dookie, its one of my favourite CdÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â´s.

What's wrong with being commercialized anyway? If you're successful enough you'll always end up making a shitty mass-market thingy. Unless you're pixar or something.

Yea. Succesfull bands will always become mainstream at some point, no matter how they start out. That doesnt always mean that theyre comprimising their creative integerity though, sometimes its true though. Which is always a sad thing.

as i said taste differs per person, and i also listen to a lot of different music, i also like( a punk example) bad religion, and that i dont like britney spears or bloody country music doesnt mean it is bad, im sure a lot of people like it, just not me.....

Well I'm not sure I had a point. I just feel that Green Day target their music at the 14 yr old 'I hate my parents OMG' crowd, and being a music snob I kind of look down on that sort of thing. Of course, I readily admit never having seen Greenday live (nor do I have the desire to). All my concert money this year is being spent on seeing as many of the Queen reunion shows as possible.

well, queen isnt my taste, but i must say they should have stopped and not take that new lead singer, although i dont like the music they had something back then.
normally btw i also dont like bruce springsteen that much, but some friends dragged me to a concert of his and i must say it was pretty awesome.
anyway i think the queen reunion probably will be cool ,but it wont be the same as it used to be (you could even say that they are commercializing now)

Hey, I play music myself. Guitar and bass, I also listen to many other kinds of music then punk. Actually, almost any genre you could say. Usually I dont put to much weight on genre though, as it is a very short sighted way of looking at music.
