Hehe, actually there was a little bit of story behind that as well. When the current owners of McDonald's bought it from the McDonald's brothers, who were (spoiler here), the originators of the McDonald's fast food idea, they encountered a problem. Namely, the coffee that was being made in McDonald's was kept for 30 minutes, and if it didn't get drunk during that time, it was discarded. The owners saw this as a waste of money, having to make new coffee every half and hour, so they started heating the coffee up to very high temperatures, instead of discarding it.

Now, this woman got her coffee from a driveby McDonald's and while she was driving (she had the cup between her thighs) it spilt and she got seriously burnt, so she decided to sue McDonald's for her medical costs.

The McDonald's lawyers treated this as a joke as well, but then the woman's lawyer digged that info up from somewhere and argued that McDonald's was making their products more dangerous to people in order to cut down on costs.

So eventually they sued McDonald's for the product that they make in one day in all of their "restaurants" all over the world, on coffee, and they won the case, but the judge decided that it was too much money so the sum got reduced.

To bring up the McDonald's trials as a reason for why America sucks is unnecessary. It is all explained here: http://www.leftwingclothes.com/

Wow, those look awesome. In Estonia, for a while there was this movement in which people made red t-shirts with the pictures of the leaders of the socialist party, and it had a caption: "Commies to the furnace".

I'm trying to get hold of one at the moment.

It's sad but true. Even the first words my brother said to me at London airport was "Nothing here tastes the same as back home, and everyone drives like shit".

True, but I must warn you: If any attempt is ever made to wear one of them, an innocent child will die of halitosis.

Hmm, I was hoping that they would have them for a variety of views (in disregard of the title of the site), so I won't be wearing any of that.

I read that the plastic cup melted. She didn't spill.

The fucking cup melted.

I generally think that it is good for dumbasses to hurt themselves, without compensation.

In a case like this, I would have sued.

Melted cup?

That's just fucked up.

But McD's has the best fries of any fast food place, so they have a small excuse for living.

Don't you watch action movies? Everytime a pot of hot coffee is smashed into some guys face its the actually coffee that does the most damage not the glass. There face bubbles and turns red. The girl is stupid for not heat testing whatever is supposed to be hot and using a god damn cup holder but if the coffee is hot enough to inflict actual serious burns then they are at fault too. I've never actually seen a person get serious burns from hot water unless they decided to take a bath in a boiling hot pot or something.

Tim Horton's coffee gives the best buzz of all coffees. I think it must have nicotine in it or something.

All the big name coffee chains (Starbucks, Second Cup, Timothy's World Coffee etc.) don't really do anything for me buzz-wise. And I don't care for the taste of Starbucks. Their coffee is burnt as hell, and I hate having to say "grande" or "vente" when ordering coffee.

Granted, Timmy Ho's coffee is really syrupy and disgusting, but it always gives me a euphoric, nicotine buzz-esque feeling.

I'm now limited to one cup a day -_-

I used to drink ~15-20 cups a day, but it started screwing my kidneys up, also my blood pressure was damn high (115-140), so I quit for like 2 weeks and am now on only 1 cup a day :|
