Stuck at Pelojian's Pool

I got Arcanum for Christmas and have been playing a magic charcter, but i have gottone stuck at Pelojian's Pool. I can't figure out how to talk to him to find the vendigroth device. I used the unlocking cantrip on the locked buildings and got Pelojian's Amulet and the Verses of a Wanderer Canto 1-4. That poetry didn't clear anything up though. Please help.

Ooh... Wait while I strain my memory to remember how this works...

There's another symbol puzzle to be solved here. There are five symbols around the Pool, four of them corresponding to a Verse. The Verses should tell you the order in which to walk on them. If you do it right, you are then supposed to go walk on the fifth symbol and then talk to Pelojian.

I had a lot of problems with this quest.

Then I found out that amulet sitting on the floor...
