I dunno if Bethesda is linked to this at all (and I doubt it), but it has a striking resemblance to some of the stuff we've seen so far. It feels more Terminator than Fallout, but that seems to be the way things are going.
perhaps im going crazy, but the lighting just doesnt look fallout? everything in fallout was too bright, washed out, and bleached by the sun, which this isnt really
aside from that its pretty neat. i agree with your assertion that it reminds one of terminator. to me it looks way too generic post-apoc, like millions of other pictures we've seen that have ceased to look cool or interesting. but i think thats simply because it doesnt have the fallout-esque lighting
Looks like something Al Gore would use and not Bethesda. Besides, I can see remains of buildings so it's totally illogical and contradicts the Fallout setting. It should be more like the Glow.
I can't be sure at all, but isn't that last picture the splash screen you get if your fifteen years (or whatever it is) run out in FO2?
As for standing buildings not being canon in FO, I would refer all of you to the map screen of Necropolis (Bakersfield) from Fallout 1. It has many tall buildings still standing.
I remember when this happened before the Oblivion release, Beth was uber stingy with media and a million and one images got released that only somewhat resembled the 1 or 2 items beth had released up until that point. It's not Fallout 3 (clearly) but more precisely it's not Beth's.
Definitely not Beth... and weren't these posted on CGTalk sometime ago?
Edit: I don't know if someone has posted this already, but here is a link to the homepage of the concept artist Bethesda is using for FO3.
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
Stop whinging guys. I think they're pretty dope. Maybe not as "Fallouty" as Fallout 1 (notice the use of key words there), but they are not bad, and if they are Bethesda's then that would give me a little hope.
While I'm not sure if these are legit F3 images I am at least sure they are the same artist, so a decent idea of what to expect can at least be attained.
What makes you think it's FO3-related artwork? There are TONS of post-apocalyptic projects out there, and tons of artists that have a Mullins-like style.
