I also believe he is making another Desperado-style movie with Banderas, not sure if it will be another in the series but similar style.

All of them at least started as indie, save maybe Coppola

Don't forget Chris Nolan and Steven Soderbergh. Those are my favorites, anyway.

Indie movies are much, much better the Hollywood... The only TV I watch is the Independent Movie channel, and I get to as many film fests as I can (luckily for me, every Wendsday my cultural center plays indie movies) The best movies I have ever seen are ones that I knew nothing about, and sometime sone who's names I didn't know until it ended (ahh, the perils of being late)

BTW, my fave indie film is "Funny Games", a subtitled german horror/drama. You can't find it in video stores, but if you come across it, watch it.

I've only seen one of Linklater's films (Tape), so I can't really comment. It was a good movie though. I've heard some good things about Waking Life, and of course, Dazed and Confused.

The only TV I watch is the Independent Movie channel

Lucky bastard. We don't HAVE an Independent Movie channel up here in Canada! Oh, NOOOOO! We have the Comedy Network! CRAP! We also have MuchMusic! CRAP! The closest we have to an art-house channel is Show Time. CRAP!

Wong Kar Wai's Chungking Express and Fallen Angel are marvellous films.

Ive never really liked these documentary style films well actually I do but most seem forced especially with this stupid Dogma thing dreamed up by Lars Von Tier which makes it all seemed too false giving it a label and rules even though people were doing it years before.

CBR, which university in Chicago? Normally I head up to theaters in Milwaukee to see some good rare films. There are about four theaters there that show foreign, older, or rare films. I have seen Delicatessen a couple of times. Jeunet & Caro have some fantastic films - I highly recommend seeing City of Lost Children too.

I didnt mean I hate these documentary type films as in the films mentioned above I just meant I hate these documentary style films as in documentary style films in general.

Aliens4 was utter shit though. CoLC was good but then I love Ron Perlman, not enough to like Alien4 though.

It was a great idea to have him as the narator in Fallout.
