at the time of the error no other windows were open. FO and the error message were black, and no mouse cursor displayed unless I alt+tab'd to another window.

When I pulled up task manager to close FO, it showed this error message as a program.

WTF is Falloutw ?

Windows version of Fallout (as opposed to the DOS version, perhaps)
