Patches

Post by Carib »

I was wondering, is it possible to unpack and repack a patch like Seraph 1.03 and add new maps or an updated City.txt and other maps

I tried the import action, but all I get is an error...

Any words of guidance would be helpful.

Youll have to unpack the patch.dat and put the extracted files in your data folder in the f2 directory (put all the folders text, art, proto ect, into that data folder)... then in that same data folder youll have to modify the files that you want it to run...

When your done make sure you make the proto files read only, on my pc, fallout 2 tends to delete the protos out of that folder if I dont make it read only... better yet make all the files read only

You could just unpack, modify the extraction, then repack it up again as patch000.dat, but that way is more complicted... plus this way you can always make new adjustments to the files with ease

I use this datman light to unpack my files... but there plenty of programs here you can choose from

Hope this helps :)
