Also rilom, the research suggests that Bethesda (especially Pete) aren't to be trusted. They have to demonstrate that they can be, and it's foolish to take their word for it.

You forget, rilom, that Bethesda is going to "do what we do best." Also, didn't Beth copyright the Fallout 3 title, or did they buy the rights to use the copyright? In either case, not using a name they payed for would have to provide greater benefits than using it for the hyphenated title...

Isn't NMA, like, blacklisted? Not really. There were no dev-posts for a year until Kathode just admitted to buying one of our member's old copies of Fallout 1 & 2 over eBay. Otherwise NMA staff aren't banned from the ESF and there are still private convos, so it's not really a blacklisting. Rep...

That would also mean he's a troll.

And in class system pnp rpg what exactly prevents you from creating your own class? Because at that point you're just making shit up and violating the rules of the game. You can create a new character "Archetype" with a skill-based system, but you can't make a new class with a class-based...

If the game was set in some medival time it could have as well be called Classes. "Classes" aren't something that have to be unique to a medieval setting, they're a general term that can be applied to any setting. Nope says Archtype described as profesion that determines you start skills ...

So, they're not really classes. They're orientations that influence character development, but don't restrict it. You didn't answer the other question by the way.

Are you sure they're classes and not character builds or backgrouds? Does it specifically say CLASS in your little character book, or is your tremendous retardation mincing terms?

If the game has classes, then why is it described in the wiki as a skill system?

The system is a skill based system utilizing 20-sided dice (It is however not the d20 system published by Wizards of the Coast), with point based characters. It has one of the most deadly combat systems yet seen in an RPG and fatality rates of the characters to match. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K...

However, I don't really feel like Fallout needs to be turnbased or third person isometric. Needs to be? I guess technically not, but it certainly should be. The SPECIAL system is designed for turn-based combat, because Fallout was developed to re-create the pen & paper experience, pen & pap...

Being the Vault Dweller or a descendant of the Vault Dweller has nothing to do with class, it's an orientation. Maybe the status could affect a character sheet for whatever reason, but other than that it functions entirely differently from class restrictions, which is basically what this boils down ...
