By the way, in case you want to keep your save games, which would be unreadable by the patched version of FO2, there's an app somewhere that converts 1.00 saves to 1.02.

I wonder what would happen if Interplay were to announce it was disbanding Black Isle and giving the Fallout 3 project to Microforte. Bloody riots? Mass suicide? A commando raid on Interplay headquarters (the cardboard box behind the McDonalds on 4th street)? New artwork in FO2 Mac? May I ask where ...

Well, *if* you have prior knowledge of the entire game and want to be really cheap, you can just walk straight from Arroyo to San Francisco, saving every square you pass to avoid special, Enclave trooper-filled, encounters. When you get to San Francisco, go straight to the BOS guy and get the Vertib...

Tell that to those of us who spent maybe 50-60$ US to buy both games when they first came out. :D

In any Fallout game, my favorite perk has to be Awareness. It's amazingly useful and it's level 3! I like to take Fast Shot (a trait, I know, but I'm going somewhere), Bonus Rate of Fire, and as many levels of Action Boy or Gain Agility are needed to have 10 AP and fire the Turbo Plasma Rifle with 2...

Obviously, nothing can really surpass Fallout 1 for most of us. It's because it was the first one--our first taste of that wonderful post-apocalyptic goodness. By the time Fallout 2 rolled around, Fallout fans were already used to the setting and its inhabitants. Everything was new and cool in Fallo...

Yeah, but this time it's NEW and EXCITING! Mad Max is good, but it doesn't quite have that Fallout feel. I mean, if a Fallout game were to have a bunch of working vehicles in it like Mad Max does, the community would be up in arms. Oh wait... They *did* make a Fallout game with tons of working vehic...

Fine. So raiders aren't a problem in Klamath. But you know what is? The Chosen One on his 674th playthrough of Fallout 2 who has decided he wants to kill off the entire population of Klamath.

So long as they get Ron Perlman to narrate, it would be good. Come to think of it, I remember reading in PC Gamer a few years ago that Interplay created a division called (I think) Inter play Movies, which would have made a movie about Fallout. The division probably died off years ago, but it's an i...

Raiders are everywhere in Fallout. And besides, Klamath is very close to the Den, so travelers leaving Klamath are probably preyed upon by slavers. And there might also be some tribals that are more agressive than the ones from Arroyo.

The whole point of Fallout 2 was to stop the Enclave from releasing FEV into the atmosphere (let's just forget the fact that the nature of FEV makes this impossible for the moment). It would be sort of disappointing if despite the Chosen One's efforts to stop it from happening, he himself makes it h...

That toe is great. Once you have it in your inventory, you can use it on people and they get rad poisoning.

They could put winged ballerina deathclaws in FO3 and blame it on FEV and we'd still be happy with the game.

Actually, all the 'Ask About' talking head things are listed in the Fallout Bibles. CAvellone has thoughfully listed all the words that the talking heads react to.

This one is especially annoying because I'm still stuck on it. I made it to mission 20, Cheyenne Mountain, where you must take the Nuke APC to Vault-0's door to blow it open. So I choose to wipe the map clean of robots before bringing in the APC, since I don't have any good repair characters with me...
