As far as utopistic hard currency goes, nothing beats Niven's idea in my book: The Roentgen Standard . Press money from fissionables! "A healthy economy depends on money circulating fast. Make it radioactive and it will certainly circulate. Verifying the authenticity of money would become easy....

This is how the banks can create close to 99 times the amount of money out of the initial deposit as long as there are people willing to take on debt. So if I have a 1000 dollars in capital and I create a bank, then I can collect the interest on 9000 dollars, and helped the banking establishment as...

You do realize that it's the banks that create money? Most of our money today doesn't exist in any physical form. It's just debt on a computer. When you take a loan, the bank can lend 9 times the currency it has in deposits. In other words: create money. When you repay your loan, the loan itself cea...

I played the (mutliplayer) beta and I kinda liked it. I tend to be put off by FPS multi as they are twitch-fests. Never played Tribes though (which is what everybody and your uncle compares Section 8 with). However with Section 8 you can be achieve a good score and be a valid part of a team without ...

Dang, I though I didn't have to spell out IRONY with a big fucking letters. How can you be "stupidly" conservative/liberal/socialist/mormon? The same way the Internet can be stupidly important business. @Kashluk - that's a comparison that's made way too often. It's not accurate. You just s...

What's the point of the DNA locked technology? Again, apart from setting a major key-point in the movie of course.. Why would their weapons be keyed to their DNA if anyone of the race could use it? I thought this was the weakest part of the plot. Alien weapons were littering Soweto. Why didn't some...

Even beside the idiotic problem of "reigniting the Sun*" this film had some potential. Why couldn't they have a single physicist or even a single engineer on the staff? What really blew me was how stupidly designed the spaceships were. I mean it was only the survival of the human race at s...

Actually there were some good 3D RPG, witht the notable addition that they weren't pure incarnations of the genre. (no not that kind of impurity you perverted freak!!) The fist thing that comes to my mind is System Shock - it implemented a number of things in FPS that were ealier though impossible o...

Those who say Halo sucks are pussies who have an inherent need to brag about how they 0wn a game and beat it mercilessly - pretentious lot who lack the guts to take on the horde in a legendary challenge. Halo was a definitly different experience on higher difficulty and if not for the poor map desin...

The problem with powered armors is the lack of a small enough powersource that could power the actuators - wheter they are some artificial muscle or hydraulics. From the necessary powerlevels IMHO something nuclear will have to be used, or at least smg. with very few moving parts. Though the latest ...

Look at all my smart posts! They are in a dormant form vrapped up in some way - outside effects like acid, heat, radiation can destroy the wrap and destroy or alter the virus. wrap = protein coat. If the protein coat gets destroyed, then the virus RNA is fucked. No altering about it. It won't repli...

I came across the new domain by luck (.cx -eh?) and beforehand I though for several moths that the site has gone down. I used to read fanfics in 1999-2001 so I came across DAC as a good source and checked the place out every odd months or so for postapocalyptic stuff and the like. Hungarians are one...

First Person on its own - It should have a Flashpoint esque inteface. So you can click on and grab things and still move around seemlessly. However Combat should be either a lot more automatic or turn based - the problem: automatic won't fit long range weapons, turn based won't do with first person ...

No it isn't it's more like there are quite a lot of Hungarian porn actresses, and Hungarian scenery is very cheap to use for filming.

However porn or public sex / prostitution aren't any more accepted than anywhere else in Europe.

First things first - what I think I should definitly add is virsuses have no whatsoever conscience - not in the moral aspect.
